Meet Our Summer Staff

Annika Jensen
Director

We live and breathe STAR Camp at our house! I've been involved with this incredible program since I was 10 years old, when I attended Astro Camp for my first time. STAR Camp shaped my life in significant ways, and it is now my absolute joy to direct these programs year-round, with the full support and enthusiasm of my husband and four young children. My educational background is in engineering, which I love. My career has taken me more on a path through education and mentorship, which it turns out I also really love. I am so blessed to be able to live and share my passion for STEM education every day!

Emily Rimmasch
Assistant Director: Logistics

I am Emily! I am a DaVinci Academy graduate and graduated from Weber State University in 2021 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I had the honor to work at Newbridge Elementary this year as their first-ever preschool teacher. I have had the fun challenge of helping to set up the preschool program. I'm excited to take on the challenge of helping STAR Camp run smoothly this summer, especially because it means I get to help children grow their passion for STEM.

Harrison Fackrell
Assistant Director: Simulations

I'm Harrison Fackrell, the Assistant Director of Simulations this year. I'm returning to STAR Camp as a seven-time alumnus, and my family has been involved in the program for many years. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Utah, and I am also the in-house developer for STAR Camp's mission simulation software—I've always loved computer engineering, and I hope to pass that on to the campers this summer.

Kenzie Carter
Camp Chef

Hi my name is Kenzie Carter! I've been going to Astro/STAR Camp since I was 11 years old and this is my 5th year as summer staff. I've been a team leader and night staff, and I spend the school year as a curriculum specialist, taking STAR Camp into classrooms across northern Utah. I love musical theatre and being in nature. I'm so excited to be a part of the team this year and look forward to meeting all the amazing campers.

Night Staff

Hi! I’ve always loved STAR camp, and have attended 5 camps. I loved every single minute of them. This is my third year as staff, and I am so excited about working with everyone! I recently graduated from Northridge High, and I hope to go to the Air Force Academy. I have about 12 careers I want to go into, including aerospace engineering, astrophysics, and astronomy. I’m looking forward to interacting with all the parents, campers, and fellow staff members to create an amazing summer at STAR camp!

Hey!! I've been going to Star Camp since I was 9 or 10 years old and I am SO excited to be part of the staff this year to continue working with this lovely program! I love the vast beauty and mystery that space has to offer us and I plan on becoming an astrophysicist! (Hopefully!). In my spare time I love to create art, play video games, Pokemon, and participate in sports of any season! (I have so many passions and hobbies, those are only a few!!)

Henry Greene
Team Leader

Hey guys! I'm Henry Greene and this year will be my second year on staff at STAR Camp! Ever since I can remember I've been a part of the STAR Camp family, and I've loved every moment spent in this program. The memories I've made here have been so impactful to me, and I'll be forever grateful for the experiences I've had here! I recently graduated from Farmington High School as a Student Body Officer, and I'll be furthering my education at Utah State University in the fall! Outside of STAR Camp, some of my favorite interests consist of spending time with friends, listening to music, watching movies, and doing anything that's outdoors! Science and anything STEM related has always been one of my biggest passions, and I can't wait to share that passion and fun with the campers this summer!!!

This is my first year as part of the STAR camp summer staff but I’ve been attending as a camper since I was 11 years old. I have loved my experience with this program and am very excited to be a team leader this summer. I love space and all things science and math. I’m super excited to work with this year’s campers and show them how awesome space and STEM can be. In my free time, I love to be outdoors and do activities like mountain biking and skiing.

I've always had a deep love for science, but the one topic that I could never get enough of was space. Imagine my absolute joy when I got a job where I get to go and teach about space! About the moon, about rockets, about it all! I have spent the last year as a Curriculum Specialist for STAR Camp, directing space mission simulations in classrooms across northern Utah. I'm so excited to join the team of team leaders to share my passion for space with campers this summer!

In my free time I crochet, do karate, and look after my spider and many plants.
