Sponsor a STAR Camp Classroom Experience
Teachers are always looking for ways to enrich their students’ learning experiences, and extend education beyond the classroom. You can help by fully or partially sponsoring one of the teachers on this page for a STAR Camp experience with the Douglas Space and Science Foundation. Teachers can choose from in-person classroom visits, virtual field trips, or a Lunar Mission.

Odyssey Elementary (Ogden SD) 4th Grade, 68 students Amount Needed: $300 Funded by Stephen and Donna Hyde Foundation Class story: As we plan for the upcoming school year, every class contains students who have been heavily impacted by the school closure and COVID19. In addition to the global pandemic we are experiencing, the students of Odyssey endure additional trauma outside of school and most all of our students are considered low socioeconomic status.
We are looking for engaging experiences for our fourth cohort to help build a love of learning in each student while helping them gain understanding of the standards we have been asked to teach. Our new SEEd standards are naturally engaging and lend themselves beautifully to more authentic experiences such as field trips with experts in their field.
By funding our field trip, you will be helping to bring a new light to an entire grade level of student lives through the form of an amazing educational experience. For some students, experiences such as these can really push them towards success in school and a desire to learn.
